TallSlide Quick Start

From zero to a live audience in under five minutes. Follow the steps below — or jump to the section you need.

What is TallSlide?

TallSlide is a mobile-first presentation platform. You build slides on a 360 px-wide canvas (phone-sized), share a live audience link, and control the presentation from your own device — scroll position syncs in real time.

1

  • Visit the app and click Sign in with Google.
  • You'll land on your personal Dashboard.
2

Dashboard

  • Every presentation you've created appears as a card showing its title and last-updated date.
  • Click + Create new to make a new presentation.
  • Hover a card and click the menu to delete it.
  • Click any card to open it in the editor.
3

Editor

The editor has three sections:

Left — Slide Panel

  • Click a thumbnail to switch slides.
  • Click + Add Slide to append a slide.
  • Hover a thumbnail → click the red × to delete.

Center — Canvas

  • 360 px wide (phone-sized). Elements can extend vertically for scrolling slides.
  • Click T in the toolbar to add text.
  • Click to add an image.
  • Click to select, drag to move, use handles to resize.
  • Click empty canvas to deselect.

Right — Properties

Toggle between two modes at the top of the right panel:

Mode What you can edit
Visual Editor Text content, image URL/alt, font size, color, weight, alignment, borders, background, image fit
JSON Editor Raw JSON array of all elements — paste AI-generated JSON here

AI Prompt Helper Inside JSON Editor

  1. Switch to JSON Editor.
  2. Click ✨ Get AI Prompt.
  3. Type your slide topic (e.g. Introduction to Machine Learning).
  4. Click Copy Prompt and paste it into ChatGPT or Claude.
  5. Copy the JSON the AI returns, paste it into the textarea, and click Apply JSON Changes.
4

Sharing

Two header buttons control sharing:

Present

Opens the Presenter View — only accessible to you, the deck's owner.

Opens a modal with the Audience Link (/watch/…). Share this URL with your audience.

5

Presenting

Presenter View (owner only)

  • Shows the current slide in a phone frame.
  • Scroll the canvas — the audience view scrolls in sync automatically.
  • On mobile: tap the FAB (bottom-right) to open the slide menu and jump between slides.
  • Toggle the Jog-Wheel for a touch-friendly scroll controller.

Audience View (shared link)

  • Read-only. Automatically follows the presenter's scroll position and current slide.
  • Works on any device — no login required.
6

Access & Security

  • The Editor and Presenter View require you to be signed in and be the deck's owner.
  • The Audience View is public — anyone with the link can watch.
  • If someone else tries to open your Presenter link, they'll see an Access Denied screen.
